We are delighted to reveal that Richter's Sally Ameen has been shortlisted in a prestigious competition showcasing the South West’s rising stars of civil engineering.
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) South West Civil Engineering Awards 2021 recognise the emerging talent within ICE South West’s graduate membership and their overall contribution to civil engineering and the work of ICE.
Sally was selected from a highly competitive field to be one of five finalists for the ICE South West Graduate of the Year 2021, and is one of our Graduate Design Engineers based from the Exeter office. Being with the team just over a year and a graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Sally is working towards becoming an Incorporated Engineer by the end of this year, with her main goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer in the next few years.
Following a second round of judging, the winner will be announced at a gala ceremony in Bristol on Thursday 30 September 2021, presented by Rob Bell, TV presenter and engineer.
Shaun May, Director of our Exeter office nominated Sally for the award. When we spoke to him, he told us why he believed Sally deserved to be put forward;
"Sally has excellent analytical ability and is a people’s person. She has integrated well into our team and has a “can do” attitude towards solving problems. She focuses on self-improvement through research, technical discussion with colleagues and CPD events. One of Sally’s top qualities is her ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both to technical and non-technical colleagues. Sally is an ambassador of the 'Richter' way and I have no doubt that her positive mental attitude, together with her drive to succeed will result in one of Richter’s future leaders"
Sally, from all your colleagues at Richter, congratulations and best of luck.
